Comrade

Hagen Hasselbalch, Denmark, 1946

9 min.DK/Documentary

At the time of the liberation there were about 7000 Russians in Denmark who had been prisoners of war or who had been used as slave-workers by the Germans. The film shows scenes of their daily life in the camps which were set up for their accommodation. We follow them on visits to farms and private homes, and to the workers at Burmeister & Wain, the famous Danish firm of shipbuilders.
