FRAGMENT. War has broken out, and young men have to leave their loved ones to fight for their country. A series of scenes show the horrors of war: heavy shooting at the front line, a lone horse bends over the corpse of his former rider on the abandoned battlefield, landmines explode beneath the feet of an infantry patrol, and nurses tend to soldiers in a crowded hospital. Back home, families longingly wait for signs of life from their menfolk, only a few of whom return home.
