Sixty-nine-year-old Ludvig lives alone and longs for a woman to share the rest of his life with. He loves dancing, and there is a dance every Saturday on the ferry that plies between his island and Germany. We follow Ludvig as he gets ready for the highlight of his week telling us about his life; about Anita, his wife, who left him after thirty-six years of marriage, and the gambling that took control of him and changed his existence. This film is a portrait of the price of passion, but it is also the story of hope and the longing everyone knows - the longing for love.
