A young European woman loses her heart to an Indian prince and follows him to Baghalpur, where she struggles with her cross-cultural fate and the difficult love within the maharaja’s harem. A European politician, sent on a mission, falls head over heels for the maharaja’s favourite wife and tries to take her with him to Europe. What will the beautiful Maharani of Baghalpur choose?

The film is a sequel to Nordisk Film’s smash hit 'The Maharaja’s Favourite Wife' from 1917.
