Masks are not restricted to carnival in Rio - there is also a Nordic mask culture. This is the story about a Nordic tradition which lives on in modern society among islanders, people of remote valleys, or areas with a solid local culture. The Nordic mask belongs to midwinter and has roots in ancient times.
