Me and my family - Amalie

Anja Hauberg, Denmark, 2012

14 min.DK/DocumentaryChildren's films, Portrait films

Amalie lives with her siblings and their mother far away and very isolated on the tip of the small island, Tunø. They don't have a television and not many toys either, but that's okay, course Amalie prefers to play outdoors with her sister and their angora bunnies. They sometimes pick the bunnies and help their mother make slippers out of the fur.
The school is far away, but since there are no cars on the island, Amalie is allowed to ride her bike alone everyday. There are only six students in the whole school, so it's important to get along and have fun with everyone, but that's not always easy, when you're a very shy girl like Amalie, who does not like to say much in class.
