In Kabul, a family of six is about to move to a new house. The father feels he has lost his patriarchal status since the oldest daughter, Sakina, 22, is working and pays all the bills. Communication between the family members is difficult. In a refugee camp in Germany, an 18-year-old girl from Afghanistan feels lonely and is trying her best to adjust to the routine in the camp. One day a young man begins a hunger strike. Worried about him and at the same time fascinated by him, the young girl starts to look after him. The film combines fictional and documentary elements, reconstructing a real German refugee camp with real refugees playing the extras as well as the fictional story of the family in Kabul.
