"The Rival" is the story of the 14-year-old Lucas and his mom Trine, the days up to Lucas's deceased Dad's birthday, 3 years after his death. Trine has a new guy in her life and wants to put her late husband behind her, but Lucas isn't up for it. This new guy represents a rival for Lucas, a rival that has to be dealt with.
