The training ship ‘Georg Stage’ was launched in 1882. On 25 June 1905 it was rammed by another ship in the harbor of Copenhagen and sank. 22 young sailors were killed. The vessel was raised and restored. Today the ship can be seen at the marine museum in Mystic, Connecticut bearing the name ‘Joseph Conrad’.
