In the film an attempt is made (with the help of Karin the hairdresser) to recreate the original research done by the American photographer Andrew Daneman in trying to uncover all he can about the Danish photographer Mary Willumsen. Mary Willumsen was most active in the period 1914-22. She is quite well-known today for her photographs of nude women which she took out at the bathing area Helgoland. Andrew Daneman's efforts resulted in an exhibition of Mary Willumsen's work being put on at the Glyptotek back in the mid nineties.
