Sven Methling, a veteran of highly functional farcial comedies geared at family audiences, comes up with truly robust fun in his film version of Torben Nielsen's autobiographical children's novel about, of course, Torben at 14, rowdier than the rowdiest of kids, always getting in and out of hot spots like riding a rodeo bull, tying a small girl to a kite and ploughing up Main Street with a tractor. This film premiered prior to Methling's Dad's Bright Idea (The Crumbs 3).
