Born 1979, Denmark. A graduate in documentary direction from the National Film School of Denmark, 2009, and in sociology from Copenhage University, 2004. Has, since 2001, worked as director, cinematographer and editor of documentary films, and has made films in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Koefoed's films have awards at numerous festivals, including Tribeca, Silverdocs, Full Frame, Sheffield Doc/Fest and CPH:DOX. Koefoed's first feature-length doucmentary, 'Ballroom Dancer' (directed with Christian Bonke, 2011) screened at a number of festivals including IDFA and Toronto Hot Docs. 'At Home in the World' (2015) received the Best Mid-Length Documentary at IDFA. 'The Lost Leonardo' (2021) was selected for Tribeca Film Festival.
