Director, 1953-2023, Denmark. Graphic artist specialising in photography. Graduate of Denmark's Design School, 1977. Broadly trained in film and video at the National Film School of Denmark and the national broadcaster DR TV. She has taught in various fields within film and media.
After a number of documentaries and TV productions, Holbek Trier directed her first feature film in 1997, the children's drama 'Nonnebørn'/'Agnus Dei', which was awarded the Children's Jury Prize in Zlin. Her children's short film 'Susanne Sillemann' (2000) was selected for competition at Berlin and won prizes in New York, Athens and Montevideo. Likewise, the family drama 'Send mere slik'/'Send More Candy' (2001) was awarded at several international festivals, among these in Montreal, Berlin, Chicago and Buenos Aires.
