Cinematographer. Born 1974, Denmark. Camilla Hjelm Knudsen graduated as cinematographer from the National Film School of Denmark in 2003. Earlier, in 1997, she finished a course at Fatamorgana, the Danish School of Art Photography, and in 1998 at the International Center of Photography in New York, where she received the ICP prize for best documentary photography.
Hjelm Knudsen debuted as director (with Martin Zandvliet) with the documentary "Angels of Brooklyn" (2002), which she also shot. She has filmed a number of short films, documentaries and TV series. In feature film, she has stood behind the camera on films by directors such as Daniel Espinosa, Annette K. Olesen and Martin Zandvliet.
In 2016 she received the national Robert award and a European Film Award for her cinematography on Martin Zandvliet's Oscar-nominated "Land of Mine" (2015).
