Marchen Asmussen has been directing documentaries and worked in television since 1993. She debuted as a documentary director with 'You Always Get Me Wrong' (1995). She has specialized in one-woman-productions, often with a focus on muslim immigrants in Denmark.
'You Always Get Me Wrong' won the third prize at the Balticum Film Festival. 'Ghetto Princess' (2000) won the Grand Prix at Odense International Film Festival and 'Zezil's World' (2005) was selected to IDFA. The short film 'My Faith – Jehova's Witness' (2018) was selected to compete at IDFA's Kids & Docs selection.
