Dorte Bengtson has worked in animation since 1996. Her graduation short film 'The Sylpphid' was selected for competetion in the Cinéfondation selection at Cannes Film Festival in 2009. She received ANIS' talent prize at Odense International Film Festival the same year. Her short film 'The Shadow Animal' (2013) was shown at Göteborg International Film Festival among others. In 2015 Bengtson directed the short film 'Vitello Digs a Hole'.
'Vitello' (2018) is Bengtson's first animated feature film as a director. The same year she directed the tv-series of the same name.
