Born 1940, Denmark. Stage and television director. Trained as an actor. From 1984 to 1991, Kaspar Rostrup was head of Gladsaxe Teater, a major Danish theatre near Copenhagen.
In 1981 came Kaspar Rostrup's feature film debut, "Jeppe på Bjerget"/"Jeppe of The Hill", based on a comedy by 18th-century dramatist Ludvig Holberg. Rostrup received an Academy Award nomination for "Dansen med Regitze"/"Waltzing Regitze" (1989). The film met with great popular success and was honoured in Montreal and Lübeck.
