Director and producer. Born in Germany. Graduated as a producer in 2012 from the alternative Danish film school Super16. From 2006 Katja Adomeit worked at the production company Zentropa - until 2012, when she set up her own production company, Adomeit Film.
Katja Adomeit has produced Daniel Joseph Borgman's short fictions 'Lars & Peter', selected for competition at Cannes in 2010, and 'Berik', which was awarded the Grand Prix Award in the Semaine de la Critique sidebar at Cannes 2010.
Adomeit made her debut as producer of feature films with Daniel Joseph Borgman's 'The Weight of Elephants', world premiering in Beriln 2013. Adomeit was co-producer on Ruben Östlund's 'Force Majeure', winner of the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard sidebar at Cannes 2014.
In 2012 Adomeit debuted as a director with the short fiction 'Little Night Hunter'.
Adomeit also works in documentary, having produced Anna Eborn's 'Pine Ridge' (2013), about a group of young Native Americans in South Dakota, selected for Venice Film Festival and winner of Best Nordic Documenary in Göteborg, and 'Not at Home' (2013), a film with strong fictional elements about a group of Afghan refugees. She directed the film herself in collaboration with Afghan director Shahrbanoo Sadat. In 2016 Adomeit produced Sadat's feature debut 'Wolf and Sheep', which received a C.I.C.A.E. Award at Cannes Film Festival the same year.
Katja Adomeit was selected to take part in Producer on the Move 2015, European Film Promotion's networking platform taking place each year during Cannes.
In 2017 Adomeit produced Annika Berg's 'Team Hurricane', which premiered at Venice Film Festival the same year, and Daniel Borgman's 'Loving Pia', which was screened at the Berlinale Forum.
