Hoppe was co-creator of the television series 'The Killing' (2007) for which he also wrote the script for all seasons. In 2011 the series won a BAFTA Award for Best International Series and a Robert Award for Best Danish Series in 2013.
Hoppe wrote for the drama series 'Nikolaj og Julie' (2002) and 'Those Who Kill' (2010).
For several years Hoppe was a member of the rock band Disneyland After Dark (D.A.D) about whom he made the documentary 'D.A.D: True Believer' (2008).
