Director, animator. Born 1975. Graduated from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Got his Master of Fine Arts from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest.
Kranot is behind a number of award-winning animated shorts and VR projects, which he created with his partner, Michelle Kranot. Prominente titles include 'Hollow Land' (2013), which was on the Oscar shortlist for best animated short, and 'How Long, Not Long' (2016), which won the FIPRESCI prize at Annecy. Michelle and Uri Kranot are also behind the VR projects 'Nothing Happens' (2017) and 'The Hangman at Home' (2020), both were selected for Venice Film Festival where the latter won the prize for best virtual reality project.
The Kranot couple also lead the ANIDOX programme, a development lab and creative platform for animated documentaries at The Animation Workshop in Viborg.
