Dooley Thomas er lige blevet pensioneret fra politiet og skal til at nyde sin frihed. Da han bliver vidne til et indbrud og hermed bliver mistænkt for at være indblandet, tilbageholdes hans pension. Dooley må nu forsøge at opklare indbruddet. Til dette får han hjælp af sin hund Jerry Lee.
