FILM STUDIOS FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS: FILM-X

In the FILM-X studios children and teens work together in the studios to produce a short film narrative through a guided, creative learning process

Housed at the Cinematheque in Copenhagen, FILM-X has been a hit ever since it opened in 2002. Filming takes place in a physical setting with studios and editing facilities.

Critical awareness, a clear voice

Working together in crews, children and teens get hands-on experience with the different phases of filmmaking – from concept development to filming and editing. FILM-X instructors inspire and support the children. Making decisions about storytelling and the use of film language, participants become discerning, creative producers of the various film formats. FILM-X enhance children’s abilities to express their own stories and opinions through audio visual formats. The studio experience helps to give a clear voice to the younger generations and encourage a more critical outlook at a time when communication by moving pictures is steadily increasing.

Film workshops

The FILM-X studios host about 650 film workshops yearly with approx. 10,000 participating children.
