Danish broadcaster TV 2 and Arte France have teamed up with Nordisk Film and Frenchkiss Pictures for the production of the crime series 'DNA', which has just started shooting.
The eigh-part series is directed by Henrik Ruben Genz, whose most recent film was 'Word of God'. Writer is Torleif Hoppe, who co-created the international hit series 'The Killing'.
Anders W. Berthelsen plays Rolf Larsen, once a respected criminal investigator who is crushed by grief and guilt after losing his daughter in a tragic accident. Meanwhile, it turns out there is a system error in the police's DNA register, and new information brings him hope that his daughter might still be alive. Rolf embarks on a desperate and unauthorised investigation which leads him on the trail of a case of trafficking.
The cast also features British actress Charlotte Rampling and Poland's young talent Zofia Wichlacz, as well as Danish actors Nicolas Bro, Olivia Joof, Loiuse Mieritz, Johanne Louise Schmidt and Trine Pallesen.
Shooting takes place in Denmark, the Czech Republic and France.
'DNA' is backed by the Danish Film Institute's Public Service Fund, the West Danish Film Fund and Nordisk Film & TV Fund. The release on Denmark's TV 2 is scheduled for autumn 2019.
