Witch

Andrea Hejlskov is a recognized Danish author, public speaker and self-declared witch. Writing about her own life, she has a burning desire to use her platform for social change. As a practicing witch worshiping the old Norse Gods, she feels deeply connected to nature, but her own battle with schizophrenia, hallucinations and loneliness makes it increasingly difficult for her to distinguish between what is reality, what is her spirituality and what is her illness speaking. In the turmoil of our modern world she struggles to find a balance between saving herself and trying to change society for the better.

Witch! is an honest story about connections and loneliness in modern society. It explores the life of a middle aged woman and artist struggling to find meaning in a world where we have become detached from nature, while also navigating her battle with mental illness. Ultimately the film is also about the process of creation and storytelling in itself.
