Published in 1973 and one of the more complex novels of the Leif Panduro literary oeuvre turned into a no less complex psychological drama that pursues Panduro's favorite madness-versus-sanity theme in deadly earnest: A doctor and conventional family man gets involved in a small city's local intrigue. Drawn towards a woman patient, who suffers from schizophrenia, his own mental balance is badly upset.
