Only on Earth

Robin Petré’s documentary ‘Only on Earth’ is presented in the festival’s children’s program, Generation Kplus. Robin Petré’s work focuses on our coexistence with nature and brings the audience eye-to-eye with the world of animals. Her first feature-length documentary, ‘From the Wild Sea’, premiered at the Berlinale in 2021.
‘Only on Earth’ takes us on a sensory-rich and visually spectacular journey into Southern Galicia, one of Europe’s most vulnerable wildfire zones. During the hottest summer ever measured, humans and animals struggle to cope as inextinguishable fires draw closer. Wild horses have roamed the Galician mountains for centuries, surrounded by an ancient cowboy culture. The wild horses’ special ability to curb flammable undergrowth is indispensable when it comes to fire prevention, but their numbers are dwindling in today’s clash between human progress and nature.
‘Only on Earth’ is an immersive reflection on the current state of the natural world and human-animal relations.
The film is produced by Malene Flindt Pedersen and Signe Skov Thomsen for Hansen & Pedersen with support from the Danish Film Institute. Autlook Filmsales is handling World sales.
Danish films previously announced for the Berlinale are Frelle Petersen's fourth feature film 'Home Sweet Home' and Christoffer Rizvanovic Stenbakken's Danish-Greenlandic short film 'Anngerdardardor'.
