Actor. Born 26/8 1969. Graduated from Odense Theatre in 1998.
Ranthe began his acting career in the 80's with supporting roles in 'Rubber Tarzan' (1981) and 'Crash' (1984). Upon finishing graduation, Ranthe's career began anew with various movies throughout the 00's, including 'Old, New, Borrowed and Blue' (2003), 'In Your Hands' (2004), 'Adam's Apples' (2005) and 'The Summers' (2008). He got his big breakthrough with 'Dirch' (2011), which earned him a Danish Film Award and a Danish Bodil Award.
Other prominent roles include 'The Hunt' (2012), 'The Shooter' (2013), 'Dicte' (2013-2016), 'The Commune' (2016). 'Love and other Catastrophes' (2016) earned him a nomination for a Bodil Award. He received nominations for Danish Film Awards for his parts in 'Pros and Cons' (2018) and 'Warrior' (2018). His turn in 'Another Round' (2020) earned him the actor's trophy at San Sebastián Film Festival. He shared the award with his three co-stars.
