Kollektiv Film

Established in 1971 by director Christian Braad Thomsen. Since the beginning the company has predominantly produced films by director Braad Thomsen and director and artist Jytte Rex. Braad Thomsen's feature film debut "Dear Irene" (1971) was also the company's first feature film. Along with the feature films Kollektiv Film has produced several documentaries and some rather essayistic films about Braad Thomsen's own background: "Well-spring Of My World" (Christian Braad Thomsen, 1976) and "Where the Flowers of Memory Grow" (Christina Braad Thomsen, 1991). Furthermore Kollektiv Film has created several portrait films about creative personas, such as Danish author "Karen Blixen - Storyteller" (Christina Braad Thomsen, 1995), musician "Marilyn Mazur - Queen of Percussion" (Christina Braad Thomsen, 2006) and German director "Rainer Werner Fassbinder" (Christina Braad Thomsen, 1975) and the follow-up "Fassbinder - To Love Without Demands" (Christina Braad Thomsen, 2015) that premiered at Berlinale in 2015. Among Jytte Rex's portrait films are "Inger Christensen, The Cicadas Exist (1998) about Danish poet Inger Christensen, and "Henning Larsen - Passages of Light and Space" about the renowned Danish architect.

Kollektiv Film has played a significant role in the import of films that would have had a hard time finding Danish distributors, such as films by German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
